LEVATOR ANI — three parts
• Puborectalis: slings around the anorectal junction → maintains the anorectal angle (key for faecal continence).
• Pubococcygeus.
• Iliococcygeus.
• Plus coccygeus (ischiococcygeus) posteriorly.
